Referees Prepare To Meet

The National Basketball Association and its locked-out referees will meet Wednesday in Manhattan in an attempt to resolve their labor dispute. The two sides have not met since Oct. 28, and have been far apart on financial issues.

Boston Celtics guard Dee Brown twisted his knee during practice in Waltham, Mass., and the team is not sure if he will be able to play in Wednesday’s home game against Utah.

In Lumberton, N.C., more than 300 people were trimmed from a pool of 500 potential jurors called for the trial of a man accused of killing Michael Jordan’s father.
