Vandals Lose; No. 4 Ulca Upset

College basketball

Senior forward James Jones scored 16 points to lead the Idaho Vandals to an 81-64 win over Brewster Packing in an exhibition game in Moscow, Idaho.

Jones scored 10 of his 16 points in the first half as Idaho ran out to a 45-26 halftime lead. Brewster Packing could get no closer than 10 points in the second half.

Brewster Packing was led by former Gonzaga star John Rillie who had a team high 20 points, all in the second half.

The win was not without its sour note, however, as Idaho forward Harry Harrison went down with a knee injury with 2 minutes left to go in the first half. It is unknown how serious the injury.
