Orders To Boil Water In Two Towns Lifted

Compiled From Wire Services

Residents of Mackay and Dubois can stop boiling their drinking water.

State officials on Monday said the boil orders in effect have been lifted.

The measure was imposed on the Mackay water system last Monday and on Nov. 13 for Dubois. State laboratory results showed samples taken last week in both towns were within acceptable limits.

The boil orders were issued after coliform bacteria was found in in the water. Evidence of coliform means other dangerous bacteria could be present.
