The Chocolate Royale Cake from Spokane’s Sweet Cravings bakery is indeed a many-splendored thing: three layers loaded with dark chocolate, rum buttercream filling and a covering of French-imported ganache.

“Nothing in it is non-calorific,” says co-owner Sandra Terhaar. Doesn’t love mean never having to count calories?

Price: $16.95 for a full 9-inch, threelayer cake, or $2 by the slice.
