Teamsters Remain On The Job At Dairy

Broadview Dairy employees rejected the most recent contract offer from the company Sunday but agreed to stay on the job when another negotiating session was scheduled for Wednesday.

Dick Solberg, secretary-treasurer of Teamsters Local 582, said Broadview employees rejected the contract offer by a strong majority Sunday.

That offer, the third rejected by union members since negotiations began in May, was made during a lengthy negotiating session Friday.

Solberg said Wednesday’s session will begin early in the afternoon. He is scheduled to meet with employees at 5 p.m. Wednesday, at which time the workers will decide where to go from there.

Local 582 represents 47 employees at the dairy, which is owned by Goodale & Barbieri Cos.
