N. Idaho Teachers Work Without Pacts

Compiled From Wire Services

Teachers in Coeur d’Alene, St. Maries and Wallace are among teachers in 14 other school districts statewide who are working without contracts.

According to the Idaho Education Association, the number of districts that have not settled is not unusually high for the start of a school year.

Those North Idaho districts that have settled agreed to a wide range of salary increases, from no raise in the Mullan School District to a 2.5 percent increase in Lakeland School District, where the starting salary now is $19,300.

Negotiations will continue today in Coeur d’Alene.
