Benewah Bridge Replacement Begins
Workers will begin replacing the Benewah Creek Bridge on Idaho Highway 5 Tuesday.
The old wooden bridge is being replaced with a 115-foot long, 35-foot wide concrete bridge. The bridge is being replaced one-half at a time. One-way traffic will use the other half of the bridge.
Flaggers will guide traffic during the excavation phase. Then a traffic signal will control traffic 24 hours a day, seven days a week, until the project is completed in late September.
The contractor is N.A. Degerstrom of Spokane. The project will cost $670,000.
