Kamloops Beats Americans In Ot
Jarome Iginla backhanded in his own rebound at 13:23 of overtime to give the Kamloops Blazers a 4-3 win over the Tri-City Americans in Western Hockey League divisional playoff action on Saturday.
The win ties the best-of-5 West Division semifinal at one game apiece, with Game 3 scheduled for Monday in Kennewick.
The Blazers overcame a 2-0 second-period deficit to score three straight goals before Jaroslav Svejkovsky scored the tying goal at 19:39 of the third period.
Kamloops’ other goals came from Hnat Domenichelli, Shawn McNeil and Jason Holland.
Dan Smith and Daymond Langkow got the Americans’ other goals.
Randy Petruk made 35 saves in goal for Kamloops, while Brian Boucher stopped 30 shots for the Americans.
