Two Teams To Double-Dip

While most Championship Auto Racing Teams will skip the May 26 Indianapolis 500, at least two have decided to send entries and drivers to both the Indianapolis race and CART’s U.S. 500 at Brooklyn, Mich.

Mike Groff, a driver for Walker Racing, said he will enter the Indy 500. Also, The Indianapolis Star reported that Davy Jones plans to run at Indianapolis for car owner Rick Galles.

Galles will have Jones in Indianapolis and rookie Eddie Lawson in the U.S. 500. Walker will run Groff at Indianapolis and Robby Gordon at Michigan.

Series points leader David Green raced to victory in the Sundrop 300 NASCAR Busch Grand National stock car race at Hickory (N.C.) Motor Speedway. Spokane’s Chad Little, who started 26th, finished 11th and won $5,545.

Britain’s Damon Hill won the pole position for today’s Argentine Grand Prix in Buenos Aires, edging Michael Schmacher by 0.2 seconds with a clocking of 1 minute, 30.346 seconds.
