Germans Surprise Canada

Compiled From Wire Services

A team billed as one of the best Canada has sent to the World Ice Hockey Championships is in danger of being bounced out of the 12-team tournament.

Canadians are mostly to blame for a 5-1 loss to Germany. The Germans played with five Canadian-born players and were coached by former NHL and Canada national team coach George Kingston.

Former Spokane Chief Travis Green of the New York Islanders scored the Canadians’ goal.
