Police Arrest 2 Suspects In Rape
Police arrested two men Wednesday on suspicion of raping a drunk aquaintance last week.
Daniel Leupold, 21, and Michael Sheets, 18, were arrested without incident about 10:30 p.m. outside Zip’s, a Sherman Avenue convenience store.
The 18-year-old alleged victim told police she had been “hanging out” at the store with her roommate and two others after midnight on Aug. 22.
The four got into a car where, the woman said, the two men fondled and molested her.
After visiting a couple of houses, the group arrived at an undisclosed location, where the woman either walked or was carried to an empty lot.
There, she told police, the men raped her.
The woman told police she was unclear about the night’s events because she had drank half a fifth of whiskey.
