Lafontaine’s Future On Hold After Concussion

From Wire Reports

Buffalo Sabres center Pat LaFontaine says he doesn’t know when or if he will play hockey again.

“I don’t know what the future holds,” LaFontaine told The Buffalo News. “I really haven’t thought a whole lot about it. My whole focus right now has been on getting myself to feel better.”

Doctors at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., have said LaFontaine is suffering “serious post-trauma effects” from a concussion he sustained in an Oct. 17 game with Pittsburgh.

Coyotes can Paddock

General manager John Paddock was fired by the Phoenix Coyotes, one day after their worst loss of the season. Phoenix has struggled to a 10-15-4 start, including an 8-2 thrashing Tuesday night to the Islanders in New York.

On the ice

Keith Primeau had two goals and Gerald Diduck the game-winner as Hartford beat the visiting Florida Panthers 5-2.
