Riverside Whips Pullman With Balanced Scoring

Kasey Ahrens had 10 rebounds and joined four teammates with 11 or more points Tuesday as Riverside (13-6, 7-4) beat visiting Pullman 73-55 at Chattaroy to creep closer to the second-place Greyhounds (12-6, 7-3).

Riverside clinched at least a tie for a district berth. Pullman made nine 3-pointers - three apiece by Jeremiah Donati and Nick Mirkovich.

Adam Johnson had seven of his 11 steals in the second half and the Bantams (8-8, 5-5) made 11 of 14 fourth-quarter free throws to beat the visiting Knights (5-14, 2-9) and keep their playoff hopes flickering.

Clarkston trails Cheney (6-4) for the fourth and final district spot. Brad Wilson of EV scored 22 and made six of his team’s 11 3-pointers.

At Chattaroy, Nicki Snyder’s basket with 40 seconds left and Bernice Stime’s two late free throws helped the Rams (12-7, 7-4) replace the visiting Greyhounds (6-12, 6-4) in second place and clinch a district berth.

Abbey Wood of Riverside and Pullman’s Molly Fisher had 10 rebounds apiece. Pullman trailed 32-19 late in the third quarter before it began a 19-5 run.
