Search Intensifies After Body Found

From Staff And Wire Reports

The body of a 75-year-old Grants Pass woman missing since Dec. 18 has been found, renewing a police appeal to the public to help find a man who had been using her credit cards.

Sgt. Ron Goodpasture of the Josephine County sheriff’s office said it appeared that June C. Duncan had been killed, but an autopsy was pending.

Goodpasture said Duncan’s body was found Saturday on a muddy forest road in the Wolf Creek area by a hiker.

On Dec. 22, police learned that a man had been using her credit cards to buy gas and other items in Oregon and Washington, and had stayed at a motel in Wenatchee.

The suspect is described as white, 25 to 30 years old, 5 feet 7 inches tall, 160 pounds, clean-shaven with strawberry blond or reddish hair and a heavily freckled face.
