Soup For Charity
Looking for some soup that will warm your soul in more ways than one?
Global Folk Art Bazaar in Spokane sells soup, chili, salsa, and corn bread mixes, as well as gourmet vinegar and pasta, produced by The Women’s Bean Project, a Colorado-based nonprofit organization that provides homeless women with job skills.
The concept has spread to more than 30 states, with Global Folk Art assistant manager Mary Beth Rickel planning to someday start a similar group in Spokane.
Price: $7.50 for vinegar, $7 for pasta, $4.50 for four soup and two chili mixes, $2.50 for corn bread mix and $2 for salsa mix.
