Man Pleads Guilty In Death Of 17-Year-Old

A 61-year-old Wallace man pleaded guilty Monday to involuntary manslaughter in the death of a 17-year-old Mullan, Idaho, boy.

Earl Crabtree was driving drunk when his car collided with the teen’s vehicle, said Shoshone County Prosecutor Dan McGee.

Ryan Lunen died at the accident scene.

Lunen was on his way home from his job at McDonald’s on June 29, 1995. Crabtree crossed into the wrong lanes of Interstate 90 and began driving against traffic when he slammed into Lunen’s vehicle head-on, according to an Idaho State Police report.

Crabtree faces up to 10 years in prison when he is sentenced Feb. 26. , DataTimes
