Driver Earns First Win
Roy “Buckshot” Jones won his first NASCAR Busch Grand National race, holding off Mike McLaughlin by 0.002 seconds in the Sears Auto Center 250 at Milwaukee.
Jones, 25, of Monticello, Ga., driving in only his 17th race in the series, took the lead when Dick Trickle lost control of his Chevrolet on lap 246 of the 250-lap race at The Milwaukee Mile.
Spokane’s Chad Little started 35th and finished 21st to win $9,237.
Tom Kendall won the Trans-Am Classic for his third Sports Car Club of America victory of the season, leading the final 58 laps of the 63-lap race through the streets of Minneapolis.
Kendall, who averaged 65.21 mph in his Ford Mustang Cobra, leads Dorsey Schroeder 237-236 in the season standings. Ron Fellows finished second by just 0.894 seconds.
