There’s Still Time To Enter Triathlon

Swimmers, bikers and runners have until Wednesday to enter the Lake-to-Forest Triathlon, which is scheduled for July 28.

The 15th annual triathlon, sponsored by the Sandpoint Rotary Club, is staged out of Garfield Bay, about 14 miles south of Sandpoint.

The triathlon includes a 1.5-mile swim in Lake Pend Oreille, a 40-kilometer bike ride on a scenic, hilly loop course, and a 10-kilometer run along tree-lined county roads.

Entry fees are $40 for an individual, $35 for a relay team member and $150 for a corporate cup team.

Proceeds from the event support Rotary Club, as well as the Sandpoint Recreation Department, the Sandpoint High School swim team and cross country team, the Schweitzer Ski Patrol, Emergency Medical Services and the Radio Club.
