Arlington International Racecourse has scheduled a press conference for Monday to announce a July 13 invitational stakes horse race in which Cigar will try to equal the modern American record of 16 straight victories.

If the world’s hottest horse runs, the purse will be $750,000. In addition to the normal winner’s share of $450,000, there will be a $300,000 bonus for the first-place finisher.

If Cigar doesn’t run because of injury, illness or bad weather, the purse will be reduced to $300,000.
