Beuletta ‘Bea’ Williams Spokane

Visitation for Beuletta M. “Bea” Williams, 76, is scheduled from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Private graveside service will be Wednesday at Pines Cemetery. Memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Thursday at Manito Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Williams, who died Thursday, was born in Genesee, Idaho.

She graduated from the University of Idaho and taught briefly in Kamiah, Idaho, before she moved to Spokane in 1943.

She worked for the Air Tactical Service Command at Fairchild Air Force Base, the War Assets Administration and the Social Security Administration in Spokane.

She married Luke Williams Jr. in 1947.

She was a member of Manito Presbyterian Church, and as a church deacon participated in Meals on Wheels. She was an official hostess for the Washington State Pavilion during Expo ‘74.

Survivors include her husband of 48 years; one daughter, Brenda Bruce of Boise; one son, Mark Williams of Spokane; one sister, Rowena Fredekind of Spokane; one brother, David Nordby of Boise; and two grandchildren.

Gerhard Reitz Spokane

Memorial service for Gerhard O. Reitz, 76, is set for 11 a.m. today at Messiah Lutheran Church. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. at Rosewood Cemetery in Fairfield.

Mrs. Reitz, who died Thursday, was born in Fairfield.

He was ordained in 1945 at St. John’s Lutheran in American Falls, Idaho. He was a missionary for the Evangelical Church of America.

He married Jean Kammueller in 1948 in New Guinea.

For 44 years he served as a station missionary, pastor, teacher, lecturer, professor and archivist in Papua, New Guinea and Indonesia.

He and his wife retired to Spokane in 1986. They served interim pastorships in Lind and Sprague, Wash., in Spokane at Holy Trinity Lutheran and Central Lutheran, and in Coeur d’Alene at Lutheran Church of the Master.

Mr. Reitz is survived by his wife; two sons, Philip Reitz of Boise and John Reitz of Gig Harbor, Wash.; three daughters, Heidi Carlson of Spokane, Gretchen Weiss of Helena and Ingrid Reitz of Anchorage, Alaska; nine brothers and sisters; and nine grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to a scholarship fund supporting Melanesian and Ethiopian students pursuing theological studies at Wartburg Theological Seminary, Dubuque, IA 52001.

Michael Hagen Spokane

Service for Michael J. Hagen, 39, will be at 11 a.m. today at New Hope Christian Center. Burial will be at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hagen died Friday of Lou Gehrig’s Disease.

He was born in Spokane and graduated from East Valley High School.

He was a lifetime Spokane resident and worked for Accra-Fab. He served on the board of directors of the New Hope Christian Center.

Mr. Hagen is survived by his wife, Sandi Hagen; one son, Julian Hagen, and two daughters, Tessah and Tiffany Hagen, all at home; his father, Henry Hagen of Spokane; three brothers, Lorren Hagen of Oroville, Wash., Arden Hagen of Vancouver, Wash., and Gary Hagen of Boise; and three sisters, Marlene Thies and Gloria Cash, both of Spokane, and Mary Reyes of Deer Park.

Carl Winkleman Deer Park

Private burial service for Carl Winkleman, 93, will be at Spokane Memorial Gardens. Lauer Funeral Home of Deer Park is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Winkleman, who was born in Wilbur, Wash., died Thursday.

He worked as an electrical groundsman in the construction of power lines. He retired in 1968.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Hazel Winkleman; two stepdaughters, Eleanor Thompson of Deer Park and Elaine Costar of Spokane; and one brother, Paul Winkleman of Spokane.

Jerry Bough Coeur d’Alene

Service for Jerry L. Bough, 63, will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene. Mr. Bough, who was born in Illinois, died Friday.

He moved to North Idaho in 1977 and worked for the Idaho Transportation Department before retiring.

He was retired from the Army after 23 years of service.

Mr. Bough was a member of the Masonic Lodge and enjoyed playing golf.

Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Doris; two sons, Gary Bough of Coeur d’Alene and Harald Bough of New York; one daughter Judy Tutcher of Coeur d’Alene; two brothers, Henry and Johnny Bough, both of Illinois; one sister Udell Chambliss of Illinois; and three grandchildren.

Grace Asher Silverton, Idaho

Memorial service for Grace Asher, 97, will be today at 3:30 p.m. at Silver Wood Good Samaritan Center in Silverton. Inurnment will be in Tampa, Fla. Shoshone Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Asher, who was born in Woodruff, Wis., died Friday.

She moved to the Silver Valley in 1990 from Tampa.

She was a mother and homemaker.

Mrs. Asher was preceded in death by her two husbands, Russell Clark and Art Asher.

Survivors include one son, Gerald Clark of Tennessee; three granddaughters, Frances Agusta, Linda Cimo and Sherry Shook; one daughter-in-law Elsie Clark of Osburn; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Ruth Poirier Coeur d’Alene

Service for Ruth Rebecca Poirier, 91, will be today at 2 p.m. at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene. Interment will follow in Pinegrove Cemetery in Rathdrum, Idaho.

Mrs. Poirier, who was born in Great Falls, Mont., died Friday.

She moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1947 and worked as a nurse at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Spokane and later at Pinewood Care Center and Coeur d’Alene Convalescent Center.

Mrs. Poirier enjoyed traveling and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert, in 1978.

Survivors include one son, Bill Poirier of Coeur d’Alene; one daughter, Gayle Thaxter of Coeur d’Alene; one sister Blanche Gutenburg of Great Falls; 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

William Trezona Everett

Service for William Arthur “Bill” Trezona, a former Spokane resident, was Monday at Immaculate Heart Retreat House.

Mr. Trezona, 87, died Thursday.

He was born in Spokane.

He worked for the city of Spokane, starting in the Weights and Measures Department in 1929.

In 1937 he was promoted to foreman of the Refuse Department and was named superintendent in 1950. He retired in 1972.

Mr. Trezona was a volunteer at Immaculate Heart Retreat House for many years.

He and his wife, Laura, moved to Everett in 1986 to be closer to their family.

Mr. Trezona is survived by his wife of 67 years; one daughter, Laura Lundberg; one sister, Stella Robar of Idaho; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Alice Blanford Hayden Lake, Idaho

Graveside service for Alice L. Blanford, 68, will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Post Falls. Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Blanford, who was born in St. Maries, died Friday.

She graduated from Rogers High School in Spokane and moved to Hayden Lake in the 1940s.

Mrs. Blanford enjoyed oil and China painting and raising orchids.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn, in 1995.

Survivors include a son, David Blanford of Hayden Lake; two daughters, Diane Blanford of Helena and Donna Hanft of Bothell, Wash.; one brother John Mauck of Kingston, Idaho; one sister Ethel Knapp of Spokane; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Juanita ‘Sue’ Myklebust Pullman

Service for Juanita T. “Sue” Myklebust, 83, was Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Pullman. Burial was at the Pullman City Cemetery.

Mrs. Myklebust, a lifetime Whitman County resident, died Saturday.

She was born in Colfax, Wash.

She received a degree in education from Eastern Washington University and taught elementary school in LaCrosse, Wash., before she married Theodore Myklebust in 1935.

They lived in LaCrosse until 1939, when they moved to Ephrata, Wash.

They moved to Pullman in 1961, and in 1964 they opened the Myklebust Clothing Store. They sold the business in 1982.

Mrs. Myklebust was a member of P.E.O. Chapter FI, a philanthropic and educational organization, Alpha Chi Omega sorority and Trinity Lutheran Church.

She is survived by one son, Kenneth Myklebust of Pullman; one daughter, Madge Williams of Hayden Lake, Idaho; and six grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church Building Endowment Fund or the Trinity Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.

James Read Spokane

Memorial service for James F. Read, 75, is set for 2 p.m. today at Hennessey Valley Funeral Home. Private inurnment will be at Pines Cemetery.

Mr. Read, a longtime Spokane resident, died Saturday.

He was born in Waterville, Maine.

He had worked for the Spokane Police Department from 1942 until he retired in 1974 as chief jailer.

He then operated the police commissary for five years.

Mr. Read was a member of the Spokane Police Guild.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sue; one brother, Allan Read of Port Orchard, Wash.; and one sister, Connie Koep of Hayden, Idaho.

Jill Wood Ventura, Calif.

Memorial service for Jill Kay Wood, 39, was Monday at English Funeral Chapel in Post Falls. Ms. Wood, who was born in England, died March 2.

She moved to Moses Lake in 1958 prior to moving to Spokane in 1971, where she attended Ferris High School.

She later worked for First American Title Co.

Ms. Wood enjoyed music, water sports and spending time with her children.

Survivors include her parents, Deland and Ruth Romine; two daughters, Lisa and Jackie Nash, both of Ventura; two brothers, David Romine of Indiana and Scott Romine of Coeur d’Alene; and a sister, Teri Smith of Post Falls.

Peggy Tedrow Spokane Memorial service for Peggy E. Tedrow, 74, is set for 2:30 p.m. today at Heritage Funeral Home. Burial will precede at Riverside Memorial Cemetery. Born in Spokane, Mrs. Tedrow died Friday. She had lived in Spokane for 40 years.

She graduated from Sacred Heart School of Nursing and worked as a registered nurse at Mountain View Hospital for 20 years.

Survivors include one daughter, Megan Anne Tedrow of Kennewick; two sons, Robert Tedrow of Seattle and Stewart Tedrow of Spokane; two brothers, Lawrence Davies of Vancouver, Wash., and William Davies of San Francisco; and four grandchildren.

Jacqueline Stinson Spokane

Service for Jacqueline K. Stinson, 61, will be at 11 a.m today at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Spokane Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Stinson, who was born in Lansing, Mich, died March 3. She had worked as a material handler for Olivetti for 15 years.

She was a 20-year Spokane resident and was a member of the Eagles Lodge Ladies Auxiliary, the Elks Lodge No. 591 Ladies Auxiliary and Valley Seventh-day Adventist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Stinson; two sons, Russell Field of Wenatchee and Kim Field of Stevens, Wash.; and two sisters, Deanna Biehl of Wenatchee and Marlene VanAllen of El Cajon, Calf.

Lucille Boyce Spokane

A dinner in remembrance of Lucille L. Boyce, 82, will be at 6:30 p.m. today at Covenant United Methodist Church. Memorial service will follow at 8 p.m. Private inurnment will be at Desert Lawn Cemetery in Kennewick. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She graduated from high school in Los Angeles and received her master’s degree from the University of Idaho.

She taught high school science for two years in southern Idaho and then taught third- through eighth-grades at Fruitland Elementary and Vineyards Middle School in Kennewick for 18 years.

Mrs. Boyce retired in 1973 and moved to Spokane in 1974.

She was a charter member of Covenant United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher and church librarian.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester E. Boyce.

She is survived by three sons, John Boyce of Pottstown, Pa., Frederick Boyce of Spokane and George Boyce of Oakton, Va.; one daughter, Alice Bafus of Spokane; and four grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lucille Boyce Library of the Covenant United Methodist Church, the Sister Church Ministry of Covenant United Methodist Church, or the Peace and Justice Action League.

Kenneth LaFountain Post Falls

Funeral Mass for Kenneth E. LaFountain, 70, will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Pius Catholic Church in Coeur d’Alene. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Post Falls. Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. LaFountain, who was born in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, died Sunday.

He grew up and attended schools in Bonners Ferry. He served with the Navy during World War II.

He returned to Bonners Ferry after his naval service and worked as a logger. He later lived in Oregon and Montana before moving to Coeur d’Alene in 1965.

Mr. LaFountain worked at the Broadway Truck Stop in Spokane, later driving a long-haul truck before retiring due to injuries suffered in a trucking accident.

He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans and enjoyed playing pool and cards.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Charlotte; three sons, Richard of Post Falls, Ed of Coeur d’Alene and Terry of Spokane; two daughters, Vicky Crowley of Coeur d’Alene and Sue Larson of Post Falls; 20 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Donald Chamberlin Santa Fe, N.M.

Memorial service for Donald L. Chamberlin, 96, was Monday at Ponce de Leon Retirement Center in Santa Fe. McGee Memorial Chapel in Santa Fe was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Chamberlin, a former Spokane and Lewiston resident, died March 6. He was born in Colfax, Wash.

He had lived in Santa Fe for nine years.

He had worked for the Forest Service for 40 years, packing mule strings, laying out trails and roads and constructing lookout towers in Idaho and Montana. After he retired, he and his wife, Violette, “Vi”, traveled in Airstream caravans.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.

His wife died in 1991.

He is survived by one son, David Chamberlin of Los Alamos, N.M.; one daughter, Ann Chamberlin of Redmond, Wash.; four sisters, Mildred Harrison of Lewiston, Kay Flores of Grangeville, Idaho, Elaine Muhr of Eugene, Ore., and Nona Frazee of Boise; and two grandchildren.
