Former Substitute Pleads Innocent

Associated Press

A former Blackfoot High School substitute teacher and coach has pleaded innocent to three molestation charges involving two cheerleaders at the school.

Kenneth Mack, 34, was ordered on Tuesday to stand trial in 7th District Court starting May 21 on charges of attempted rape, sexual battery of a minor and sexual abuse of a child.

Mack is accused of trying to rape a 15-year-old girl in 1994, and of making sexually explicit telephone calls to another 15-year-old girl in October 1995. Records show he is charged with asking her to meet him and engage in sexual acts.

If convicted, Mack could be sentenced to up to 15 years in prison and $50,000 in fines on each count.
