Stackhouse Suspended

Compiled From Wire Services

Philadelphia rookie star Jerry Stackhouse was suspended for two games and fined $7,500 by the NBA for attacking Utah’s Jeff Hornacek.

Stackhouse and Hornacek were ejected in the third period of Utah’s 107-84 win Wednesday night after the 76ers’ guard grabbed Hornacek by the throat and hit him at least twice in the face.

Although the Jazz claimed Hornacek did not throw a punch, he, too, was assessed a punching foul. Both players were automatically fined $1,000 for being ejected, but Hornacek received no other penalty.
