Australian Boxer Dies
Australian featherweight boxer Lance Hobson died Tuesday in a hospital from a brain hemorrhage after he collapsed in the sixth round of a fight Monday night.
Since the 1982 death of Korea’s Duk Koo Kim after a bout with Ray Mancini, at least 38 boxers have been killed in fights and five have died in the last two years.
Hobson, a former Australian featherweight champion, fell as he left his corner at the start of the sixth round of an eight-round fight against China’s Liu Gang.
