Ambassadors Posts Improved Results

Ambassadors International Inc. Wednesday announced narrower losses for the first quarter, traditionally the slowest period for its travel business.

Ambassadors operates Ambassador Programs, which is based in Spokane, and provides other travel services as well.

In the quarter ended March 31, receipts at the Newport, Calif.-based company nearly quadrupled to $2.3 million, with revenues almost trebling to $594,000.

The net loss was $1.5 million vs. $1.4 million a year ago.

The per share loss decreased because the number of shares outstanding has grown to 6.6 million from 5 million. , DataTimes
