Massage Therapist Accused Of Molestation Man Cited For Misdemeanor Battery For Allegedly Touching Woman’s Breasts

Two women have reported to police that a male therapist at The Coeur d’Alene Resort molested them during massage sessions.

And police say a third report is pending from a woman who claims the therapist touched her inappropriately.

Police cited Janusz Mordaszewski, 31, with misdemeanor battery for allegedly touching one woman’s breasts and her genital area.

The therapist denied the allegations and said the woman was trying to make him touch her.

In two of the cases, women and their friends said nothing was done when they complained about the therapist to Coeur d’Alene Resort officials, according to police reports.

Resort manager Bill Reagan would not comment on the allegations.

“We are in the middle of really cooperating with the authorities on this and conducting a thorough investigation of our own,” he said.

Mordaszewski declined to comment. His attorney could not be reached.

The therapist and his wife immigrated to the United States from Poland where they owned a massage business. The couple began working at the resort spa in April.

A 26-year-old California woman staying at the resort was the first to report Mordaszewski’s behavior to police last week.

According to a police report, the woman and her male friend signed up for massages at the spa on the evening of Nov. 7.

The woman told police that Mordaszewski massaged her for about 10 minutes before making her feel uncomfortable. When he began massaging her breasts, she asked him whether it was a typical technique.

Mordaszewski told her, “You asked for an after-hours massage,” according to the report.

Mordaszewski began rubbing her inner thigh and then inserted his finger into her vagina, the woman told police. She told him “no,” and left.

One of the woman’s friends confronted resort assistant manager Larry Holstein after the incident. According to the police report, the friend said that Holstein refused to call police and denied that Mordaszewski would do something like that.

The woman’s friend had police called anyway. Officers found the woman extremely upset and crying. The therapist told officers that the woman asked him to touch and kiss her. He said she seemed happy when she left and wanted to tip him.

Mordaszewski was cited for battery. He has pleaded not guilty.

On Monday, another woman told police she had been molested by Mordaszewski in May. She decided to come forward after hearing about the other incident.

The 39-year-old Post Falls woman, soon to be married, was given a gift to get a massage at the resort. Her maid of honor also received a gift massage.

The woman told police that Mordaszewski repeatedly touched her genital area, according to the police report.

The woman said she wrote a letter to the resort manager complaining about the incident. She said she got a call from someone identifying herself as the spa manager. “They called me up and told me I was completely silly for thinking that,” she said.

The woman said she thought Mordaszewski would get fired and was surprised to hear of last week’s incident. She then called her maid of honor to find out if anything had happened to her during the massage. The maid of honor said Mordaszewski also touched her breasts and genital area, according to the police report.

Coeur d’Alene Police Lt. Don Jiran said officers are investigating all of the allegations. Mordaszewski has only been charged in connection with the incident last week.

The resort has taken no disciplinary action against Mordaszewski, pending the outcome of the investigation, Reagan said. However, he said the therapist is not working in the spa.
