On third-and-12 from the USC 42-yard-line, Leaf steps up in pocket and rifles 19-yard completion to Chad Carpenter. On TD pass, Taylor beat USC cornerback Chad Morton, a former running back making his first start at corner.

Adam Abrams 37-yard field goal. 29-yard drive in 12 plays, 5:07. USC drive starts at the WSU 49 after Mike Bastianelli gets piece of Jeff Banks’ punt. Trojans stall at the WSU 20 one play after quarterback Brad Otton is sacked by Washington State defensive end Dorian Boose.
