UI’s Fien Takes Player Of Week Honor

University of Idaho senior quarterback Ryan Fien, who nearly engineered an upset of Wyoming on Saturday, is the Big West Conference offensive player of the week.

Fien, playing in his first game as a Vandal, broke the Idaho single-game record for most yards passing with 542 in a 40-38 loss to the Cowboys.

A transfer from UCLA, Fien hit 36 of 58 for four TDs. His 531 yards of total offense - he had 11 negative yards rushing - and 36 completions are second best in school history.
