Levine Likes Proposal
Management labor negotiator Randy Levine is expected to make a report on the state of negotiations with the Players Association to the owners’ Executive Council today in Chicago, and indications are he will urge owners to accept the union proposals, with slight modifications.
Bud Selig, chairman of the executive council who is beginning his fourth year as baseball’s acting commissioner, will preside at what is expected to be a day-long meeting.
