Wilfredo Rivera is getting a second shot at Pernell Whitaker.

The rematch will be Sept. 20 at Miami and will be televised by HBO.

The WBC welterweight champion’s first match April 12 against the 27-year-old Rivera, of Puerto Rico (23-1-1, 14 knockouts), ended in a split decision.

“It couldn’t have been that close. He did the best he could. He better be able to do better this time. It’s going to be a beautiful night in Miami for me.”
