Editor’s Note Wins

Belmont Stakes champion Editor’s Note rallied in the stretch to win the $750,000 Super Derby at Louisiana Downs in Bossier City.

The Overbrook Farm colt was ridden by Gary Stevens, who won his first Super Derby on his third attempt. The victory was the second in four tries for trainer D. Wayne Lukas.

Editor’s Note, who finished 1-1/4 miles in 2:02-1/5 5, paid $7.80, $5.20 and $4.20. The 25-1 runner-up, The Barking Shark, paid $18.60 and $11.40. Devil’s Honor paid $5.60 to show.
