Prize Money Highest

The PGA Tour Championship raised its purse to $4 million, making it the richest event on the U.S. PGA Tour.

The season-ending tournament, which will be played at the Champions Golf Club in Houston from Oct. 30 to Nov. 1, raised the total purse from its former level of $3 million and will have a record first-place prize of $720,000. The former first-place purse was $540,000.

Only the top 30 players on the PGA Tour’s money list through the week before the Tour Championship qualify for the event.
