New Superintendent For Plummer-Worley

From Staff And Wire Reports

The Plummer-Worley Joint School District has chosen a Washington educator to be its next superintendent.

George Asan will succeed Robert Singleton, district trustees announced Friday. Singleton will retire at the end of the school year after three years as superintendent.

Asan, 54, was one of four finalists for the position. He holds a doctorate in educational leadership from Seattle University. His dissertation was on multicultural education. He also has master’s and bachelor’s degrees in education from Western Washington University.

Asan was superintendent of the Highland School District in Cowiche, Wash., from 1993 to 1996, and headed the Asotin-Anatone School District in Asotin from 1990 to 1993.

He has worked as principal or teacher in a number of Washington schools. , DataTimes
