Catcher Joe Oliver left the Cincinnati Reds as a free agent last fall looking for an everyday job. He has returned by agreeing to a minor-league contract and a part-time role.

Billy Taylor, who saved 17 games for Oakland last season, got a four-fold salary increase when he agreed to a $575,000, one-year contract with the Athletics.
