Injured Kentucky basketball player Derek Anderson was arrested in Louisville, Ky., early Monday on traffic charges.

Anderson pleaded innocent and is due back in court March 12. He was released from jail on his own recognizance.

The 6-foot-5 senior guard, who underwent reconstructive surgery on a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee Jan. 22, was arrested at 4 a.m. EST by Jeffersontown police. He was charged with running two red lights and driving on a suspended license.

UCLA forward Charles O’Bannon, who averaged 19.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists in leading the Bruins to two wins, is Pac-10 player of the week.

Arizona freshman guard Lisa Griffith was named by the conference as the women’s player of the week. She averaged 19.5 points, 3.5 assists and 2.5 rebounds in her team’s wins over UCLA and USC.

Kansas, which broke the 100-point mark in both its victories last week, remained the No. 1 team in The Associated Press men’s college basketball poll for the 12th consecutive week, while Minnesota climbed to No. 2.

The Pac-10 is represented by No. 13 Arizona, No. 17 UCLA, No. 20 Stanford and No. 25 California, which entered the rankings for the first time this season.

In the women’s poll, Western Kentucky returned to the rankings after a one-week absence, thanks to its 73-65 upset of then-No. 4, now-No. 7 Louisiana Tech on Sunday.

Connecticut, Old Dominion and Stanford hold the top three positions for the ninth consecutive week.
