Forest Service Salvages Ice-Damaged Trees
The Idaho Panhandle National Forest is salvaging trees in campgrounds, on roads and recreation trails that were felled or damaged by ice and snow.
Trees are being taken from the campgrounds at Bell Bay and Mokins Bay. In the next few weeks, the Forest Service plans to take downed trees from Forest Service ground in the Carlin Bay, McLeans Bay and Nilson Creek areas.
Foresters also are considering salvage in other areas of the forest in the near future, the Forest Service said. , DataTimes
