Miss Budweiser Quickest

Dave Villwock was the fastest among seven Madison Regatta qualifiers, continuing Miss Budweiser’s impressive comeback after a disappointing unlimited hydroplane season a year ago.

Villwock, who won the season crown with Pico American Dream last year, was hired to pilot the Budweiser this year and has won each race so far. His fast lap of 148.422 mph on the 2-1/2-mile Ohio River course was almost 4 mph faster than the second-quickest boat, the Pico.
