New faces:

Rebecca Hille has been named mortgage loan officer at First Security Bank’s Spokane Mortgage Center. Hille was previously with Washington Mutual Bank as a loan officer. She also has worked as a title insurance representative and a Realtor.

Randy Benn, Tamra Wilimek and Lee Muller have joined the Spokane General Office of New York Life as associates. They will specialize in business and estate planning in Eastern Washington and North Idaho.

ASC Machine Tools Inc. has appointed Reed Caudle as a sales engineer for the southeastern United States and Mexico. Caudle has 16 years of experience in the metal building industry, including 14 years as general sales manager, building products, for BHP.

Mark McKenzie was appointed as resident sales engineer for the Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Northern Ohio territory for ASC Machine Tool’s corrugated division. McKenzie has more than 15 years of experience in the corrugated box industry, including 14 years with Pentek.

Robert Strupp has joined Sacred Heart Medical Center in the new position of director of managed care. Strupp has 12 years of managed care experience in Minneapolis.

Moving up:

Sacred Heart Medical Center has promoted the following employees: Sara Johnson and Janet Solares have been appointed co-managers of the Birth Place maternity center. Both registered nurses have worked at the Birth Place for the past 10 years and have been assistant nurse managers for six and 10 years respectively. They will oversee the labor and delivery and mother-baby and antepartum units.

Toni Cooley has been appointed director of radiation oncology. Cooley has been with Sacred Heart for 16 years, serving most recently as chief therapist in the radiation oncology department.

Duane Halliday has been promoted to vice president and general manager of Pridemark Outdoor Advertising. Halliday was previously district manager for Idaho Outdoor Advertising, a Pridemark holding.

Calvin Cathcart has been promoted to senior vice president at Washington Trust Bank. Cathcart will continue as general counsel for the Bank and W.T.B. Financial Corp.

Starting up:

Craig Hunt, a registered dietician, has opened an office at 202 E. Trent, Suite 302. Hunt, who has been approved for medical nutrition therapy and insurance reimbursement, specializes in personalized weightmanagement eating and exercise programs.

Annie Olson has established Professional Communications Consulting in Spokane. PCC provides independent consulting and business management in the area of communications, with emphasis on rate and contract negotiations, communications invoicing examination and assistance in equipment acquisitions.

Jan Jennings, a gemologist of the Gemological Institute of America, has opened Master Jewelry Appraisal Services at 9116 E. Sprague, Suite 37. The business will examine and evaluate diamonds, gemstones, precious metals and other jewelry items. The company doesn’t buy or sell gemstones or jewelry.

New identity/Moving on:

The Spender Kinney Group has announced that Fred Cox of Fred S. Cox & Associates, has retired. Cox spent more than 37 years in the insurance industry including owning and managing Fred S. Cox & Associates in Spokane for the past seven years. The corporate name has changed from Fred S. Cox & Associates to Spencer Kinney of Spokane, reflecting the association with the parent corporation, The Spencer Kinney Group.

Moving:

DataPro Solutions Inc. has moved its corporate offices to 6328 E. Utah to accommodate rapid revenue and staffing growth over the past five years.

Appointed:

The following people are new members of the Washington State Building Code Council: Robert Eugene, building official, City of Spokane, representing building code officials, and Garry Miller, City of Spokane fire chief, representing fire officials. Other members are Mike McEaney of Veradale and Rita Harvey of Spokane.

Certifications:

Shriners Hospitals for Children, Spokane has been accredited with commendation by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. This is the highest level of accreditation awarded by the joint commission, which is the nation’s oldest and largest accrediting body.

Five Mile Pet Clinic P.S. has received a three-year accreditation following a comprehensive evaluation by the American Animal Hospital Association. AAHA accreditation is a voluntary achievement which includes a quality assessment review of the clinic’s facility, medical equipment, practice methods and pet health care management.
