Chargers Retain Tackle

Defensive tackle Reuben Davis, San Diego’s 320-pound run-stuffer, has agreed to re-sign with the Chargers for $5.6 million over four years, turning down a more lucrative offer from Minnesota.

The St. Louis Rams have granted veteran punter Sean Landeta’s request for release.

Landeta, 35, said he was hoping to sign with another team.

Buffalo Bills linebacker Damien Covington was arraigned after he went into a violent rage following an argument with his girlfriend.

Covington, 24, a third-year linebacker from North Carolina State, had to be subdued with pepper spray prior to being arrested at his apartment in a Buffalo suburb, Cheektowaga (N.Y.) police Lt. Cheryl Rucinski said.
