Bright Colors Making Comeback In Home Furnishings

Houston Chronicle

Coming soon to a furniture store near you, that dynamic duo color and pattern.

The soothing sea of greens and neutrals that has washed over upholstered furniture in recent seasons should soon be challenged by the comeback of brighter, more vibrant colors and strong patterns, from traditional florals to modern motifs. If you’re feeling the need for more color in your life, this could be your year.

Brights look right as we fast-forward toward the 21st century, especially to those accustomed to vivid cyberspace colors on the computer screen. Electric blue, acid green, hot pink, orange, lemon and turquoise are replacing the neutrals and naturals.

Reds are hot - from deep berry shades to lipstick red to gold-tinged tones. Yellows go from intense to pale and seem to be bidding for favorite-color status.
