Gen. Schwarzkopf, Johnny Cash To Help Celebrate Local Heroes

Retired Gen. H. Norman Schwarzkopf, Johnny Cash and the Spokane Symphony will top the bill at “Stars: A Celebration of Heroes,” to be held May 21 at the Spokane Arena.

Schwarzkopf will speak, Cash will sing and numerous local heroes - to be selected by a panel - will be honored during this just-announced show.

The 7 p.m. event also will feature the first public showing of “Homecoming,” a multi-media show produced by Washington Water Power Co. to honor those in the Inland Northwest who served in the Gulf War.

The event will be presented by WWP, along with numerous other area businesses and organizations. It will benefit the Spokane Food Bank, Success by 6, the local chapter of the American Red Cross and the Family Service Programs of Fairchild Air Force Base.

Tickets will be $18, $14.50 and $9.75, to go on sale April 4 through G&B Select-a-Seat outlets. , DataTimes
