Injury-plagued former Olympic ski champion Tommy Moe covered the downhill course at Sugarloaf/USA in 1 minute, 23.26 seconds in the season-ending U.S. Championships for his first victory since early 1995.

A.J. Kitt, also rebounding from injuries, finished second, with Chris Puckett third.

Hilary Lindh of Juneau, Alaska, made a victorious departure after 13 years on the U.S. ski team. She won the women’s downhill one week after announcing she would retire.
