Alpine skiing

49 Degrees North hosts a boardercross race this Saturday. Info: (509) 935-6649

Silver Mountain will be open Saturdays even after its April 6 regular-season closing. How long that lasts depends on skier interest. During these “Silver Saturdays”, lift tickets will drop to $15, or $10 if you have a season pass from another area. Info: (208) 783-1111

“Bluewood’s Annual Spring Happening” is April 6, with skiing from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and a variety of other activities at the Dayton, Wash. area. Info: (509) 382-4725

Schweitzer Mountain extended its regular season through April 13.

Lookout Pass Ski Area operates today through Sunday. The next two weekends will only be Saturdays and Sundays.

Big White hosts the Canadian National Snowboard Championships March 27-30, with both freestyle and GS events.

Nordic skiing

Cloudy and windy conditions overcame the rain at Mt. Spokane State Park Thursday, where grooming behind the snowmobile continues on the entire trail system. Info: 238-4025

The “Spring Series” at Mt. Bachelor in Bend, Ore., should host some of the best Nordic skiers in America, is April 2-7. Info: (541) 382-3221

Snowmobiling

Trails are groomed at North and South Baldy and Mount Spokane and will continue until at least April 1.

The snow is wet and heavy, but Shoshone County trails at Glidden Lake and along the Coeur d’Alene River from Steamboat Trailhead to Tipi Creek have been groomed. Info: (208) 682-3814
