Granny’s Cake

This Mother’s Day, don’t forget the grannys the Granny Smiths, that is. Just American Desserts in Spokane, run by Eva Hunter Roberts along with her mother, Marie Hunter, and sister, Tracy Hunter, makes a tasty Washington Apple Cake studded with chunks of the tart, green fruit.

The spicy cake, which also includes applesauce and walnuts, is topped with a white buttercream frosting. More, Mom? Price: $2.95 per slice; full cakes from $20.95 for an 8-inch round to $88.95 for a full sheet.
