Cv’s Jackson Commits To UI
Rikki Jackson, an All-Greater Spokane League guard who helped lead Central Valley to the championship game of the State AAA girls basketball tournament, made an oral commitment to attend the University of Idaho next year.
“It’s close to home and I love the coaching staff,” said Jackson, who was All-GSL second team as a sophomore. “I get to play two years with Alli Nieman, Freshman of the Year (in the Big West Conference).”
Jackson, 5-foot-9, who was also on the Spokane Stars team that finished third in the AAU 18U national tournament last summer, considered Montana, Saint Mary’s and Pepperdine.
Zach Gourde, a 6-foot-8 forward for Prairie, which finished third in the State AAA boys tournament last year, has committed to Gonzaga. , DataTimes
