Melvin and Thea Meland, Spokane, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a private luncheon.

Hosts for the event will be their children and spouses: Frank and Ellen Meland, and Melvin Meland Jr., all of Spokane; and Judi and Duane Giese, Liberty Lake.

The Melands were married Nov. 20, 1947, in Spokane. They have nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
