Poll Finds Americans Eating More Healthfully
Cooking Light magazine, celebrating its 10th anniversary, commissioned a poll by Yankelovich Partners on our eating habits. Among the findings:
Most Americans (63 percent) are more concerned today than they were 10 years ago about the healthfulness of the foods they eat.
More than three-fourths (77 percent) say they are eating more healthfully.
Almost 40 percent report exercising more than 10 years ago, but 33 percent report exercising less.
About two in five (38 percent) say the biggest obstacle to living a more healthful lifestyle is not having enough time.
Almost all Americans (93 percent) think healthy foods can be prepared deliciously.
About two in five (42 percent) Americans have given up a favorite food in order to eat more healthfully. Fried food (26 percent) and dessert (25 percent) are the foods most frequently given up.
Americans like chocolate birthday cake better than any other flavor.
