Hints From Heloise

Dear Heloise: Lately my family has been purchasing value packs of camera film. In the past, we have found it difficult to keep track of “new” and “finished” film.

Now when I open a new box, I immediately put a piece of masking tape on the canister. As we use the rolls we label each canister with date and subject. - M. Tangvay, Rochester, N.H.

Dear Heloise: When sending mail to family or friends with small children, I include a sheet or two of comics from newspapers.

First I print the child’s name at the top of the comics and ask that he read them to his brother or sister. This encourages the children to read, as well as read aloud. - Carmella Brink, Harrison, S.D.
