Don Dennison Fruitland, Wash.
Service for Don “Butch” Dennison, a Spokane Tribe member, will be at 10 a.m. today at the West End Community Center on the Spokane Indian Reservation. Strate Funeral Home in Davenport, Wash., is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Dennison, 52, died Sunday.
He was born in Davenport, and served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Dennison worked as a security guard at Two Rivers Casino on the Spokane Indian Reservation.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen; two sons, Rick Dennison of Montana and Tony Dennison of Spokane; three stepsons, Eric, Chris and Ryan, all of South Dakota; two daughters, Denise of Idaho and Sara of Arizona; four stepdaughters, Bobbie, Alicia, Alison and Tara, all of South Dakota; his father, Leroy Dennison of Spokane; his mother and stepfather, Pearl and Alfred McCoy of Fruitland; four brothers, Ken McCoy of Wellpinit, Wash., Clyde, Pete and Bob McCoy, all of Fruitland; seven sisters, Kathryn and Linda Kieffer, Charlene Abrahamson and Tersia McCoy, all of Fruitland, Carrie Abrahamson and Sandy Bair, both of Wellpinit and Trudy Botten of Minnesota; and six grandchildren.
Donald Edwards Spokane
Visitation for Donald M. “Don” Edwards, 87, will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home. Service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
Mr. Edwards, former president of the Spokane Blind Association, died Monday.
He was a lifetime Spokane resident and worked as a masseur.
He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and Kiwanis.
Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by his first wife, Lois Edwards, and second wife, Anita Edwards.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Corkrum of Spokane; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lilac Blind Foundation.
Sam Bass Newport, Wash.
Service for Sam L. Bass, 52, is set for 2 p.m. today at Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Newport. Private inurnment will be held at the Newport Cemetery at a later date.
Mr. Bass, who was born in Lewiston, died Friday.
He worked as a welder on the Alaska Pipeline project and also at the Bremerton Shipyards.
In 1985, he married Florence Bassett in Reno, Nev.
Mr. Bass moved to the Spokane area in the mid 1980s.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Dale and a daughter, Channa, both of Spokane; his mother, Vivian DeVault of Kelso, Wash.; adoptive father, Louis Bass of Newport; four brothers; a sister and two grandchildren.
Frances O’Keefe Spokane
Memorial service for J. Frances O’Keefe, longtime Spokane resident, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements and cremation.
Mrs. O’Keefe, who was a Spokane resident for more than 80 years, died Monday. She was 83.
She was born in Norway and moved with her family to Spokane.
Mrs. O’Keefe graduated from North Central High School.
She was a homemaker and was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Alpha Delta Phi, Philanthropic Educational Organization, Sons of Norway, the Spokane Club, and the Manito Country Club.
Mrs. O’Keefe volunteered at both Deaconess and St. Lukes hospitals.
Her first husband, Robert McEachran, died in 1986.
Survivors include her husband, Ray; a daughter, Julie Thurmond of Irving, Texas; two sons, Richard and Bruce McEachran, both of Spokane; a sister, Esther Ring of Meridian, Idaho; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church.
William Sumerlin Spokane
Graveside service for William Ezra Sumerlin, 78, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Creston (Wash.) Cemetery. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Sumerlin, who was born in Creston, died Sunday.
He graduated in 1937 from Creston High School and served in the Army during World War II.
He worked for the civil service as a purchasing agent.
Survivors include two daughters, Darla Moore of San Luis Obispo, Calif., and Sherry Munroe of Pittsburgh; three brothers, Howard Sumerlin of Alamo, Calif., Burton Sumerlin of Oregon and Jim Sumerlin of Spokane; two sisters, Leeta Welch of Spokane and June Peterson of Kirkland, Wash.; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Carol (Larson) Harris San Francisco
Memorial service for Carol (Larson) Harris, 52, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Harris, who was born in Spokane, died Oct. 14.
She graduated in 1963 from Shadle Park High School and was active in the Thespian Club.
Mrs. Harris moved to San Francisco in 1974.
She was the founder and co-owner of an architectural company for the past 14 years in San Francisco.
Survivors include her husband, Peter; a son, Neal Harris of San Francisco; and her parents, Martin and Ruth Larson of Spokane.

Almeda ‘Mickey’ Reynolds Colfax, Wash.
Graveside service for Almeda “Mickey” Reynolds, 68, is planned for 11 a.m. Thursday at the Colfax Cemetery. Bruning Funeral Home in Colfax is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Reynolds, a lifetime Colfax resident, died Sunday.
She was a homemaker and married Jack Reynolds in 1946 in Coeur d’Alene. Her husband died last month.
Survivors include four sons, Joe, Bob and Dennis Reynolds, all of Colfax, and Jack Reynolds of Bremerton; a daughter, Kathy Kennedy of Everett; a sister, Elizabeth Moore of Benton City, Wash.; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Robert Meeker Bonners Ferry
A vigil and rosary service for Robert D. “Bob” Meeker, 84, will be at 8 p.m. Friday at Bonners Ferry Funeral Home. Burial Mass is planned for 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Bonners Ferry.
Mr. Meeker, a lifetime Bonners Ferry resident, died Sunday.
He graduated from Bonners Ferry High School as the class valedictorian in 1931 and worked at his father’s business, Meeker’s Machine Shop.
Mr. Meeker became a partner in the business in 1939, retiring in 1993.
He was active in many community projects including the Copeland and Porthill Ferries and was a volunteer fireman in Bonners Ferry for 40 years.
Mr. Meeker was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, the Kiwanis, Boy Scouts of America and Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Blanche; three daughters, Joan Meeker Booth of Spokane, and Judy Meeker Shearer and Pat Meeker Stewart, both of Bonners Ferry; two sons, Dan Meeker of Bonners Ferry and Jim Meeker of South Carolina; a brother, Ray Meeker of Bonners Ferry; 18 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
Gladys Booher Spokane
Service for Gladys Lyle Booher, 93, will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Coffelt’s Moon Chapel in Sandpoint. Burial will be at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
Mrs. Booher, who was born in Missouri, died Saturday.
She grew up and attended schools in Kansas and farmed until moving to the Dover area in 1942 near Sandpoint.
Mrs. Booher had worked and taught Sunday school at the church in Dover for nearly 18 years and was a member of the R.W. Club.
She recently moved to the Spokane Valley and was a member of the Spokane Valley Baptist Church.
Her husband, Owen, preceded her in death.
Survivors include four children, Nellie Wood of Tumwater, Wash., Betty Johnson of Spokane, Robert Booher of Sequim, Wash., and Carolyn Bergman of Clarkston, Wash.; a sister, Coleitto Taylor of Kansas; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Joseph Owen Warden, Wash.
Memorial service for Joseph E. Owen, 55, was Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Warden.
Mr. Owen, who was born in Nampa, Idaho, died Oct. 15.
He graduated from high school in Nampa.
Mr. Owen served in the Army in Korea as a military police officer.
He worked as an electrician for various construction companies and was a resident of Warden for the last 15 years.
Mr. Owen was a member of the Elks Lodge, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the National Rifle Association.
Survivors include his mother, Marjorie Owen of Warden.
Floyd Geer Post Falls
Memorial service for Floyd L. Geer, 80, will be Friday at 11 a.m. at English Funeral Chapel in Post Falls. Mr. Geer, who was born in Ford, Wash., died Sunday.
He had lived in Kettle Falls, Wash., before moving to Grand Coulee, Wash., where he worked as the power house operator at Grand Coulee Dam and also served as a justice of the peace in Elmer City, Wash., for 17 years.
He moved to Post Falls in 1972.
His wife, Marion died in 1995.
Survivors include a son, Bruce Geer of Coulee City, Wash.; a daughter, Sharon Boyle of Cheney; a sister, Virginia Wehr of Spokane; and a brother, Berle Reise of Fairfield, Idaho.

Morton Higgins Spokane
Memorial service for Morton R. “Mort” Higgins, 92, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home.
Born in Lincoln, Neb., Mr. Higgins died Saturday.
He was a rancher and worked in maintenance for a local social club.
He was a member of the American Association of Retried Persons and Spokane Moose Lodge No. 161.
Mr. Higgins is survived by his wife of 29 years, Alta; a son, Charles Higgins of Savannah, Ga.; a stepson, Jim Tetrault of Hope, Idaho; a stepdaughter, Darlene Morton of Sprague, Wash.; a sister, Verna Allen of Denver; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Clarence ‘Clancy’ Ross Tucson, Ariz.
Memorial service for Clarence J. “Clancy” Ross, 71, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Unity Church of Truth. Desert Rose Cremation and Burial in Tucson is in charge of the arrangements.
Born in Cheney, Mr. Ross, died Oct. 14.
He graduated from Cheney High School.
Mr. Ross worked for Burlington Northern Railroad for 40 years as a maintenance and bridge inspector.
He retired in 1987.
Mr. Ross moved to Tacoma about five years ago and to Tucson about two weeks ago.
Survivors include his wife, Marie; a daughter, Lori Ross of Dallas; and a brother, Donald Ross of Spokane.
