Panel Members Say No To Say ! Nonfat Milk

Rick Bonino Food Editor

Got milk? Skim milk? Skim milk that tastes halfway decent?

Say Yes!, a nonfat milk from Nevada that’s thickened with carrageenan (a common, seaweed-based fat replacer), bills itself as skim milk that’s comparable to 2 percent in texture and taste.

But The Spokesman-Review’s reader food panel didn’t find it to be much of an improvement, particularly at a higher price than regular milk.

When it comes to Say Yes!, it seems, they’d rather not.
