With His Streak On The Line, Kennedy Looks Good For Sunday

Compiled From Wire Services

On Tuesday, Cortez Kennedy said coming out of the training room, “Don’t count the Big Dog out.”

After watching Kennedy move around in practice Friday, Seattle Seahawks coach Dennis Erickson may be counting on him for Sunday’s key AFC West showdown at Kansas City against the Chiefs. Wearing a uniform and pads for the first time since spraining a ligament in his left knee, Kennedy moved well laterally working in team drills.

Kennedy has a string of 100 consecutive starts and 116 consecutive games played since joining the Seahawks in 1990.

“I didn’t think he’d be ready to play, to be perfectly honest with you,” Erickson said. “But he was much better on Tuesday. His improvement from Monday to Tuesday was huge.”
